Description
Merlot Redbud (Cercis canadensis ‘Merlot’) is a small ornamental tree prized for its glossy, deep purple-red foliage and rounded habit. Hardy in USDA zones 6-9, it grows best in part sun to part shade, tolerating full sun in cooler climates. It blooms in early spring (April) with magenta-pink, pea-like flowers that appear on bare branches before the leaves emerge.
